Viviana
“I feel very blessed and fortunate”
Leaving the house, closing the door and walking away, that is how the journey begins.
Viviana arrives in Vancouver following in the footsteps that her sister began 14 years ago; she comes to have the opportunity to have her family reunited again, a family that was doubly fragmented by violence and by the migration of one of its members.
Viviana’s journey does not begin at the moment of leaving; it begins long before, when her life was touched by the conflict that Colombia experienced, in the region of Rio Sucio. Her mother and her daughter arrived with her. This is the reason why Viviana made the decision to immigrate in search of a place where her daughter could have a better future and her mother could have the peace that was taken from her in Colombia.
Since she arrived in Canada, Viviana has had the fortune of counting on her sister, who has opened the path so that her family can continue. This has given her the strength to start her own business, following the teachings of her mother and her land.
Viviana has found in traditional Colombian food the balance that allows her to live while steering the reins of her own business.
