Gloricaa kortez
“You can be happy with very little, and miserable with a lot.”
Gloricaa arrived in Canada with her family when she was just a child. They came fleeing the war that knocked on their door one day and could no longer be avoided. With hopelessness upon their shoulders, they sought asylum in the United States and Spain, only to collide head on with refusals that left them in limbo. Yet, her parents kept insisting, because Colombia was no longer an option to continue their life’s project. After so many comings and goings, Canada opened its doors and gave them the chance to begin anew.
During her life in Canada, Gloricaa has encountered peaks and valleys that shook her world and plunged her into depression and anxiety. Finding herself alone in that abyss, she came face to face with death; an encounter that changed her forever.
After that terrifying moment, she took hold of the reins of her life and began her personal quest. That led her on a journey through Calgary and then Vancouver, where she has found refuge in art and healing. There she created her business REFLECT & CREATE, through which she walks alongside many others, who like her at one point in their lives, have found themselves alone.
