where we begin, How we are

Every person who lives among us has a story to tell, and that story does not have to be from a movie to be valid; every human being is unique even though some want to lock us between labels such as: Migrant, Latino, Colombian among others.
That is why I set out to create a photographic series that not only records the passage of time but also the unique gaze of 10 people, who one day decided to fill their suitcase with hopes, dreams and goals.
People who heard and answered the hero’s call, in order to, as Campbell says, begin their journey where they will pass through thresholds and odysseys as Joseba Achotegui mentions to us. A journey that confronts who we were when we arrived and how new experiences transform us in a territory called Canada.
